Welcome!

Ekoni is a Hungarian artisan workshop where history comes to life, woven into fabric and thread!

We create 12th to 18th-century attire – from hats to socks – all crafted with the utmost care based on historical artifacts and illustrations. Our goal is to provide historical reenactors with authentic, unique pieces that delight both the eye and the heart. We also work with partners such as museums and filmmakers, for whom we create extravagant yet equally authentic garments.

We offer a wide range of sizes because we believe that clothing shouldn't just "fit" but should function with the best possible form and comfort. Since we're all unique, our patterns shouldn't be uniform either. We've designed numerous patterns and custom sizing options so everyone can find their perfect fit. That's why we create both standard and custom garments (which are incredibly time-intensive), but we guarantee both – whether it's about quality, historical accuracy, or functionality.

About us

"It started as an interesting hobby and has now become a lifelong passion. I love historical furniture, clothing, handcrafted creations, dances, and music – basically anything connected to this world."

The name "Ekoni" was the idea of a dear friend, meant to help launch my career into the unknown... The reason being that my name turned out to be unpronounceable. 🙂

All of our customers are close to us – many of them we consider good friends, as we share similar interests. It's an interesting and unique hobby that brings us together.

Our services

Standard-size historical garments

We create high-quality and authentic garments based on historical patterns.
Each model has an original counterpart. You will find accurate depictions and references for each model.


Custom requests

At specific intervals, you can request custom garments from us, solely based on precise depictions.
We do not create any "mixes" that deviate from the depictions when it comes to historical clothing.
For movies, theater, artistic performances, and weddings – of course, we also create versions that differ from the historical ones.

Museum show assets

We create only authentic reconstructions based on original depictions. These can be for mannequins, or even the mannequins themselves, for permanent or temporary exhibitions.
Interesting interior photos to find the production processes, too. 🙂

Leatherware

We also create leather products 🙂 These are usually our own creations or workshop pieces, beautifully adorned with the incredible talent of Gergő Nagy, who has also crafted unique items. Soon, you'll find other accessories as well, such as belts and pouches...
