Material: Wool with linen lining, but can be ordered from other materials.

Description: The original version of this farsetto is on display, so I used it as a reference when creating the base pattern. It helped me a lot in understanding these comfortable jackets. Its special feature is the tailored elbow section, and it’s extremely comfortable — it almost feels like the farsetto is holding your arm while wearing it. For the quilting, the original features vertical stitching, which is also an option. In my ready-to-wear version, I used horizontal quilting, as I believe this offers more stability for everyday wear.

The chart shows body measurements in centimetres. Ease is already included in the pattern, so please do not add extra centimetres to your measurements. If you prefer a looser fit, choose one size larger.

Measuring points: chest, waist, height, arm length and shoulder length

How to measure

  1. Chest: around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape horizontal.
  2. Waist: around the narrowest part of the waist, keeping the tape horizontal.
  3. Height: barefoot, from the top of the head to the soles of the feet.
  4. Arm length: from the shoulder point to the wrist.
  5. Shoulder length: from the base of the neck to the shoulder point.

Measure with a soft tape over thin clothing, ideally with someone to help you.
